Too Busy or Too Broke for Relational Trauma Therapy
This 16-week trauma-informed relational couples or family course IS for those impacted by Complex Trauma, Neurocomplexity (ADHD/ADD/Autism/Other Health Impairment) that result in intense nervous systems, and the patterns that result in relationship instability.
Built by Amy Anderson, LCSW — A Complex trauma couples & family therapist who has spent 22 years working within trauma systems, trained in evidenced based strategies that are proven to help with emotional dysregulation, non-violent communication, and reducing power and control relationships. Amy incorporates EMDR, Gottman Method, IFS, Somatic Healing Inner Child practices in this deep dive on attachment and communication strategies to understand one’s ability to know themselves in relation to another.
This is the work she does with couples & families every day, broken down into 16 self-paced weeks for you to uncover independently or with another. You will uncover in this course how trauma moves through a relationship, how to identify your own emotional regulation needs, values related to attachment, co-regulation tools to do with another, attachment understanding and compassion through examining family of origin & past relationship dances, uncovering power and control through money values in order to be able to fight right, overfunctioning through perfectionism, which is truly avoidance disguised, ADHD and neurocomplexity sensory components that result in challenges with relationship repair, understanding betrayal, desire discrepancies, emotional burnout, hard conversations — ending with a real safety maintenance plan you can actually keep.
Your relationship doesn't necessarily have a compatibility problem. It has a pattern problem — which is often unwritten, unspoken, and difficult to grasp from the inside without help. It may be a pursue-withdraw, emotional shutdown, desire mismatch, the same fight wearing a different outfit or costume every week. Throw in trauma, addiction, neurospicy factors in the mix, generic couples advice doesn’t cut it for teaching the nervous system to calm.
Each of the 16 weeks, you will receive a plain-language lesson (no psychogargen - 20–30 minutes of psychoeducation), a 2-minute voice note from Amy breaking down the nuggets, visual breakdowns you can save to help better understand the content, and homework that takes less time than your evening scrolling habit.
Start together or start solo — every exercise has a solo version, because you don't need your partner's buy-in to start changing the dance.
$299, one-time payment, yours to keep forever. The pattern is the problem, not either person. Being able to understand your dance pattern first allows you to be a better dance pattern to your partner as they uncover their dance patterns. We will step on each other’s toes and that is the fun of learning, we aren’t aiming for perfect, we are aiming for authentic safe connection.
This course is for psychoeducation only — it is not a substitute for real therapy, and does not signify a clinical relationship with Amy Anderson, LCSW. If there is ongoing physical violence, coercion, or fear in your intimate relationship, please seek individual support first.
